Bolt assemblys for 1969 Romanian Training Rifle

I have 4 Romanian trainers. .22 cal. bolt actions.
I bought them cheap because they had no bolts. I found one bolt, paid through the nose for it and sporterized one of the rifles. Very accurate. Love the gun. Thing is, I CANNOT find any more bolts for those things. I have searched the web far and wide.

I am wondering why the bolts are missing and hard to come by (were they disposed of on purpose to disable the guns or what)...and...if anyone out there in TV land has one or more or knows where to find one or, hopefully three, I am all ears.

    Oops. Sorry.

    I tried to get on the want ads but to log in, they wanted all my credit card info. Had a guy in California get ahold of that one other time (not sure how) and had a mess to clean up.

    The http for this site doesnt have an "s" which makes me all the more nervous.

    Guess I am out of luck once again.

    Yeah I found that after the fact and posted. After reading "no trading" and "check the want ads at GB.com I was a little...well...gunshy (yeah, pun intended).

    Thing is, in order to log into the want ads at GB.com, they wanted all my credit card info. Kind of a catch .22 (pun intended) if you can smell what I am stepping in.

    I have seen enough of these forums (mostly sporting) where the moderators kick the hell out of people for not playing by the "rules" (even though a couple of clicks over gets you to where the repubs are throwing cyber punches at anybody who doesnt believe everything they see on Fox News.

    I am not into that. I want to play by the rules (actually, I just want to find some parts for some guns) without risking my credit rating.

    I think I can pretty much guarantee you that your credit rating will be safe here on the Gunbroker Forums. [:D] Your registration here is separate from the Auction side where I think you ran into the credit card stipulation.

    Please feel free to post in any of the forums as your needs or questions dictate. I think you'll find that our members are usually very understanding and giving when it comes to requests for information and help.

    I guess I would still like to know why it is so common to find the guns but not the bolts. Does anybody know if the bolts were so crappy that they fell apart or were they destroyed in an effort to make the guns unshootable.

    About a year ago Century Arms (importer) was cleaning out the warehouse, and sold over 1,000 of the Romanians 1969's, at 4 for $100.00 with no bolts.

    There are a lot of these out there, with no bolts. We get requests daily for these ever since the bolt-less guns were dropped on the market.

    Dealers bought these thinking it would be easy to find bolts and make some money, then after realizing these weren't enough bolts, sold them cheap to customers, to move on down the road.

    Good to know. Wonder what happened to the bolts.

    Like I said, I found one on Ebay for 45 bucks and have 50 bucks total tied up in a dandy gun. I restocked it with walnut, schnabel forend...looks like a Mod. 70 featherweight. Most accurate .22 I have ever shot. I paid 15 bucks each for 3 of the guns and the last one I got for free. All that is holding me back from haveing some dandy shooters for my grandkids is those darn bolts.

    the bolt is the most valuable part of the gun and when ebay allowed selling bolts lots of folks were pulling out the bolts from cheap guns like these and trying to sell them on ebay for more then the guns cost.

    Well, I hope somebody is still in that mood. Granted, the gun isnt super high quality and the wood is utilitarian (easy fix) at best but the accuracy is crazy good with open sights. I have handled some bolt .22s with more noteworthy (US) names, with sloppier parts and steel that didnt hold rifling very long.
    Even though it has a simple trigger mechanism, a forge and anvil can take most of the creep out. Custom stocked and a barrel-ring sling and folks think they are handling a gun worth a lot more.
    The bolt makes it go bang, but the rest of it is worth fooling around with.
    I wonder if a bolt could be made from scratch.
