serial number 05.9 8602.. located by the trigger mold... no info on gauge may be a 410...what is th evalue?

    can any one give me any info about an eastern arms single barrel 12 gauge shotgun. i think its about 50 or more years old, some one told me eastern arms has been out of biz for at least that long. there are #'s and letters stamped under the forearm on the barrel, there is a p with the numbers 845 below that and the letter j below that. it has a walnut stock and forearm and has eastern arms company stamped in the left side of the barrel . if any one can tell me about this gun you can post me back.

    The gun is what is known as a "Trade Brand Name" shotgun. That is a shotgun made by a major maker for and sold by a wholesaler or retailer who chose the name to go on the gun. In this case the gun was made by one of three makers, Stevens Arms & Tool Company of Chicopee Falls,MA, Andrew Fyrberg Arms Company of Norwich,MA or Iver Johnson's Arms & Cycle Works of Fitchberg,MA. The gun was made for and sold by Sears Roebuck & Co of Chicago,IL. Gauge? you'll have to take it to someone who knows shotguns and have them tell you. The value of these guns depend on the condition, the amount of original finish remaining on the metal and wood. Most sell in the $50 to $75 range
    Oh! and the fish weighed 49 pounds.

    during the years 1940 and 1941 H&R sold sears some model 08 standard single barrel shotguns. the model number sears applied to H&R manufactured firearms was model 105. could the number quoted in your post have a one in front of it making it 105 istead of 05.

    OK my FIL has an Eastern Arms single shot with 105.9 on it but the pin pattern doesn't match any photos of old Stevens, H&Rs or Ithacas I can find. Can anyone tell me who made this gun so we can find a forearm?EasternArms.jpg

    Eastern Arms Co shotguns were made by either Andrew Fryberg & Soms Arms Company, Stevens Arms & Tool Company or Iver Johnson Arms & Cycle Work for and was sold by Sears Roebuck. Missing forearm reduces value, maybe $50.00. Just checked my cross reference list and it says an Eastern Arms Co gun with a 105.9 number was made by Harrington & Richardson and is the same as their Topper model. Can get parts from Gun Parts Inc. You are going to need the wood and metal parts called forearm iron.
