Beretta 302

I recently purchased a Beretta A302 20 Ga. in very good condition.I was puzzled by the choke system where the chokes have a flange on the end and just drop in the barrel and a threaded cap on the outside of the barrel holds it in.I searched prior topics and found a question about the same system from 2003,and most members never heard of these chokes.Does anyone have any additional information?
Also prior to buying I checked in the Blue Book and the values are in the reasonable range that I was willing to pay,however when I checked on GunBroker people were asking lots more than the book value listed and some ads even stated they are rare and hard to find.In your humble opinion are they hard to find and is the real value around 350. to 400. or off the chart as some are in gun broker? As always I value the members comments and opinions. thanks

    I have a Browning B-80 in 12 GA. that takes a series 300 barrel... I bought a beretta barrel with choke tubes, in order to have more versitility.... That Beretta 28" vent rib barrel has the same choke tube system you are describing...Mine has a knurled piece that is threaded to the muzzle of the barrel and when removed....The various tubes are "drop in".. I am told this is the earliest design of the Beretta "mobilechoke" system...I think they still call it mobilechoke, but the tubes are now externally threaded to fit the internally threaded barrel..If anybody has additional info, I'd sure like more than I have...

    Jim Stark, Thanks for the info at least I know it wasn't done in a back alley shop. Actually after seeing this type system I have grown fond of it,and seems to work well.Any more info will be appreciated by both of us.
