While we're at it any suggestions on an inexpensive NV scope? Read other posts to stay away from Russian ones. Why? I have an AN/PVS-2 for my M-1A, am I going to do any better than this without a small fortune?

Ted Kennedy's car has killed more people than my gun.

im pretty sure with night vision you really get what you pay for. ive never dealt with any myself but have heard many times that you are better off saving up and getting a good(but expensive) night vision scope vs a cheapo 1st generation that you may be able to afford right now.

someone else will be able to give you more and better info. but for me. if i didn't have the 1500-3000 dollars to spend on a quality piece of equipment i wouldn't bother. probably why i don't own and NV equipment.

I've tried 2 of the cheaper ones, they were of no use much past 30 yards. Save up and buy the 1500 dollar one.

Is this your Gun? If so is that one of the scopes on the site you referred me too?

I know it's a great sight but I checked the product with other dealers and find it hard to believe they are selling this stuff that cheap! Have you bought from them?

Yes, that is my gun. No, that isn't from that site. I havn't tried anything from the brand in the link I posted. looked good though. think I'll look into it. Have you thought about a laser designator? Its worth the look, I have one, and it works very well. It has more uses than just on a rifle. Check out the ND3 and ND5 http://www.lasergenetics.com/nd3-laser-designator.aspx

The guys around here who do night hunts professionally use Night Scopes in the 4K and up range. I think a tricked out rifle is about 10K. They have some wonderful videos showing hunts using noise suppressors and night vision devices Based on talking to a couple of folk who have NV devices, I think you should be looking at Generation 3. If there is a four save up for that. If you buy cheap, you will buy twice. I thinki the web sight is Tactical Hog Control.
