S&W 29-2
i just got one this weekend and was looking at blue book and it states that the bbl is 6 & 1/2 inches long but mine measures at
5 & 7/8's or 6". WTH [?]and it is a 29-2 on the frame when you open cylinder.can you enlighten me
Thanks , and i measured from end of bbl to where cylinder closes on bbl.

Made in 1981. 0 -
From the Smith book:
N700000 ---- 1980
N800000 ---- 1980 - 1983
N900000 ---- 1982 - 1986
From these numbers, probably made about 1981.0
