From AMERICAN FIREARMS MAKERS by A. Merwyn Carey (1953).
"Selvridge, John 1800 - 1830. Flintlock Kentucky rifle maker in Bradley County, Tennessee. Moved to Cleveland, Ohio, in 1826. Active until 1830." This name is spelled with an "r" in it.
There are books out there that list early gunsmiths by state, e.g.,
Gunsmiths of Ohio. If you are refering to the 1800's era look on the internet under Kentucky Rifle.
THE MUZZLE LOADING CAPLOCK RIFLE by Ned H. Roberts, references a rifling guide from John Selvidge, of Bradley County, Tennessee, "rifled hundred of arms in 1795 and along in the 1800's"; pages 10, 11, 189.0 -
Thanks so much. I will continue my search with this new information in mind. 0
