H&K G3A3 bolt group

The locking rollers of G3's have a little thin metal piece that fits on the top of it, with a little "nipple" on it, that holds the locking rollers in place. The little metal piece that holds the left locking roller in place has broken off on my friends G3. Does he need to get a whole new bolt group, or is there a cheaper fix? G3's are not my area of expertise.

  That piece is called the roller holder and is secured to the bolt head with a pin at the top of the head. I've never had one of these holders break, but they certainly can and doubtless do, so if you can find the little part for sale somewhere it can be replaced.
