In state gun shipment
I know it is legal for a resident of a state to sell a firearm to another resident of the same state. Is it legal to ship the firearm to him through the USPS, UPS, or other carriers?

A non Licensee can ship rifles and shotguns through the mail, but not handguns. You can ship all types of firearms via UPS or FedEx, but expect quite a price shock for shipping a pistol. 0 -
It is legal to transfer a firearm to an FFL in any state, or to a resident of the same state, state & local law permitting. A transfer, either FTF or through a shipper, may or may not be legal, depending upon exactly where in the state both of the residents live.
My personal opinion is that it is not a good idea. While it may be legal, I wouldn't want to risk transferring a gun to someone who may use it to commit a crime; even within my own state, I will only transfer a gun through a dealer, so that a NICS check can be made. My only exception is someone who is related to me by blood.
