Ruger model 00529

This Ruger is Catalog # KBNV-453-I.
How can I find out how many were produced? Also, I've checked the Ruger site for the grips that are on it but these are not there. They are the pearl white w/the Ruger logo.

    Pictures are almost mandatory if you're interested in potential value. (Close up and clear.)
    Questions about years and numbers of manufacture can often be answered with full description; including caliber, barrel length, action style, serial number etc. Not sure if Ruger is in the habit of providing this info, but it wouldn't hurt to try.
    On the grips, I think (could be off here) that Ajax has some sort of agreement with Ruger on after market custom grips.
    Hope this gives you some more directions.

    Lett USED to be Rugers custom grip maker but they are now out of business. I would bet either Hogue or Ajax is the maker now. You can always call Ruger directly and ask them--they do use Hogues now for their rubber grips.

    The "I" at the end of the SN indicates simulated Ivory grips. That would be simulated ivory grips with the normal Ruger Medallion at the top of the grip.

    The "SI" at the end of the SN indicates black Ruger eagle logo Scrimshawed at the bottom of the simulated Ivory grips.

    The scrimshawed grips were offered by Ruger as an accessory if one wanted to purchase them, but no longer.

    If your Vaquero is a KBNV-453-I, it has the wrong grips. The KBNV-453-SI would have the grips that are on the Vaquero you reference.

    If you call Ruger Records with the SN, they will confirm the model number.

    KBNV-453-I is a, K = Stainless Blackhawk New model Vaquero with high polish finish, 45 long colt with a 3-5/8 barrel. AKA "Sheriff's" model.

    BNV-453-I is a Blue gun same variety
