HK91 DOM?
I recently aquired a HK91. I have another 91, with the date code "IB"('82). I am familiar with the date code system for HK models, but the one I just got does NOT have a date code. The serial number is "A 0205xx". Anyone know why there is no date code, or if it is somewhere else on the gun? Will the serial number help determine DOM? Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

Sounds like a PTR and not an HK serial #.
Are you sure it was made by H&K??

91's have been made in a bunch of countries, most have been made under a license from H & K. No telling where yours was originally from, possibly it's even a unlicensed U.S. made aftermarket, ( parts gun ) receiver. Post your question(s) to the guys on the H & K forum if none of our folks can identify your 91. 0 -
For clarity, I will list the receiver markings as they appear:
Left side:
HK91 A 0205xx
"Eagle N stamp" "HK" "Elk Antler"
Right side:
Made in Germany
HK Inc.
Arl. Va. 22 201
Kal. .308
It is IDENTICAL to the markings of my '82 HK91, minus date code. Pretty sure it's German. Thanks for the quick replies, this is killing me not knowing.0 -

"HK" is the ULM proof house date code for 1979. The "HK" is what got you confused.0 -
I just was starting to figure that. Thank you guys for your help. It's always the simplest of things that can get you the most frustrated. [;)] 0
