As far as I'm concerned, all AK's are good but the bona fide Russian-made ones are considered the best, or at least I consider them to be the best. I've seen a few Bulgarian ones out there too. 0 -
I will clearify that. Not just the Poly Tech, as they made both milled and stamped reciever model's. I have both, and the stamped reciever model's, or some of them, the rails were not hardened properly, and some of them broke. The Poly Tech Legend(milled reciever), is hands down the best AK ever made. Nothing, not even the original Russian's can compare. The Bulgarian's also made some really good milled reciever AK's. As far as stamped reciever's are concerned, the Russian's, and Yugoslavian's made some great ones, that use a thicker reciever, that has a reinforced front trunion area. These recievers were meant for the RPK or light machine gun. The import name on the Russian made ones is Vepr.
As for American made AK's, there is only one company I really like, and that is Arsenal USA. I have tried most all of them. WASR's from CAI, are in-expensive and run well, but show workmanship flaws to the trained eye.
There are many, many threads on here of this very subject, if only you use the search engine.

Thanks guy's for the information 0 -
Don't forget the Galil and Valmet sytems - both AK designs, but much better.
For a true AK though, the Polytech Legend w/ milled receiver ...
Then again, a el cheapo stamped POS from Century will probably last just as long...0
