Is factory made/assembled rather than a bucket of mis-matched parts that somebody assembled at home? I may have a chance to buy a Bushmaster M4? and I want to know if it's a complete factory made Bushmaster or a parts gun. Thanks in advance for any insight.

  Get the serial number and call Bushmaster. They can tell you if the gun left as a complete rifle or as just a receiver. It was a very common during the 1994 Crime Bill for rifles to be built up on receivers so Bushmaster won't think you are strange for asking.
