H&R used the V letter code in 1959. the all in one ejection method was in use from about 1949 until the 922 was discontinued the first time around. although the two digit number don not match the last two digit of the frame serial number (they should to be original) they are of the right era and should work fine in your model 922.

MODEL 922 SECOND MODEL (FEATURES NEW FRAME)
    1953-1961
Solid Frame, Double Action, Pull Pin Cylinder Release, Round & Square Butt, 22 Long Rifle Caliber, 9 shot, Blue Finish, Barrel Lengths 2 ?, 4 & 6 inches
    VALUE: 100%=$195 60%=$85

the second model 922's are not as sought after as the first model and are not as safe as the third model with the transfer bar ignition system. they do make good shooters as long as you remember not to carry them fully loaded. keep the hammer down on an empty chamber when carring them.
