Llama 22 revolver ???

OK , Im stumped ? customer brought in a Llama 22 revolver , copy of a K frame smith & wesson , anyhow ,
This one will only fire about 1/2 the time ?
will snap apx. 50% of the time ?
I have checked everything I can think of ???
any suggestions ?

    Geez, haven't had one in 20 years,,,guess you checked for a "worn hammer" as I think there isn't a pin -per say.?

    I worked on a High Standard Model B years ago that had the same problem. It had been dry fired so much that the edge of the chamber where the firing pin hit the rim was eroded away causing frequent misfires. The only way I could see to fix the problem was with something like JB Weld to fill up the space on the edge of the chamber where the firing pin had removed metal.

    I have a Llama .22 revolver,the firing pin is in the frame and not on the hammer.Mine has a recessed cylinder,I doubt you could damage the chamber (cylinder) edge by dry firing.

    Had a K22 doing the same thing. Replaced the mainspring and it has been working fine.

    I did not recall ,,,so I would say you are correct in the firing pin,,,or maybe the hammer is worn and not striking it correctly...Good tip on your part.

    Gents,

    The problem could also be a binding firing pin, even if the gun has a firing pin retracting spring.

    How's the headspace? Forward and back play in the cylinder? If loose, and causing the problem, maybe the right shim in right place would help?? Can't imagine the hammer being damaged, though I did once have a K-22 hammer literally break in half while I was dry firing it. I like the firing pin idea. Should be able to push it forward from the rear with only spring resistance and it should return to rearward position smoothly.
    Let us know what you find out.
