    There are no records to research to give us an exact number, but based on the information in an on going survey (by a collector that I am acquainted with), of the (140) Model 53s he has recorded, (41) of them are Take Downs... approximately 30%.

    No, Winchester did not ever drill the Model 53 for a receiver mounted peep sight.
