Browning Auto 12
Just purchased a 3" magnum w/30" barrael No ventilated rib, no gold trigger, round knob on grip, and an engraved pic of John Browning on the reciever. The number on the bottom of the recieveris 9V8049. Paid 600.00 is in very good shape. any thoughts

1959 production. Price sounds about right for a non vent rig mag of that vintage. You didn't mention the choke; most of the magnum guns were full (*) though. The magnum versions didn't come with gold trigger; black, like the standard models. . .at least mine is. They're nice guns, like all the A5s, but pretty heavy for upland bird. Shouldn't shoot steel shot in the Belgian barrel so somewhat limits what you can do for duck and goose hunting. Enjoy it. 0 -
anything on the pic of John Browning 0 -
$600 not a horrible price if it is in very good condition. I was fortunate enough to pick up a 1964 Light 12 in VGC for $ 650 last year. Gotta love staring at the ole' humpback from time to time. They are gorgeous shotguns. 0 -
They all have the pic of John Browning,(or most of them, some made for the European market didn't),I remember a guy that had a 20 ga. that I swear the pic of Mr. Browning had hair![:D] 0 -
