penny auctions
does gb have auctions that start at a penny, with no reserve? if so how do you search for them?

Click on Smart Search in the upper right corner of the GB home page and mess with the search settings there. 0 -
Try this using Smart Search:
Search Words - Set to what ever you are looking for.
Starting Bid - Set Between to $.01 and $.01
Item Qualifiers - Check "Exclude Reserve Price Items"
Set other search criteria as desired.0 -

You can also just do a search for the word "penny", or "$0.01" and see what turns up.
I don't think searching for "penny" auctions is the ideal way to go, by the way.
Search for the item you want using the "smart search" feature, exclude reserve price auctions, and narrow the price range to ones you'd be willing to consider.
That will probably be more instructive.0 -

It automatically sets the same criteria as I mentioned, but with a range from $.01 to $1.00 instead of a penny start like the OP asked about.0
