Japanese Nambu questions

I have a Model 94 Nambu that is serialed 6996. It as accompanied with a designation of 13.12. Can anyone tell me about it's origins and whose reign it would be common to?

  Dec. 1938 manufacture. War ones were "more" crudely made than the pre-war/ Value...without pics, numbers matching and other info...500.wag..
