Taurus 606

Does anyone know why the Taurus 606 (.357 Magnum)six shooter had such a short production run?

  Not sure-could have been slow sales. I have one that I just inherited. Taurus is famous though for bringing out guns that seem like they will sell like crazy and then they discontinue them soon after. Being the 606 is ported might have been why it was a slow mover as not everyone wants a ported gun.
