would like to know what size round it takes possibly 38 s&w or 38 colt possibly 0 -
Welcome to the forum. A little more information about the H&R would help...is there a model number? Odds are it is chambered for the 38 S&W... 0 -
Most are 38 S&W C. Byerly 0 -
All H&R's in .38 cal were chambered for the .38 S&W round or the .38 Colt NEW POLICE, which was/is the same round (146 gr. lead) with a flat nose. Any H&R marked as .38 S&W on the left side of the barrel will handle smokeless powder rounds. Older, black powder capable revolvers, will not have a caliber marking on the barrel. 0
