FN .30 cal Mauser

I have just come upon a FN short action Mauser that appears to be 30 cal. It is barrel marked Fabrique Nationale HerstalLiege. Serial #47919. Can anyone tell me anything about it?It has a rear peep aperture and a Monte Carlo cheekpiece. Thank you from Idaho! Cheers.

  It's often necessary to remind new members that we need more and better information about firearms accompanied by clear, properly lit photographs in order to determine the answer to such questions. There is a 'Sticky' at the top of this forums with suggestions as to how to post photographs.
  
  I don't recall right off knowing about any Mauser 'short actions' marked FN. Mauser did make a limited number of short actions, most chambered for the .250-3000 Savage but those were manufactured in Germany, not in Belgium. This is why we need you to provide measurements and photographs of your rifle/action.
  
  As far as serial numbers are concerned, it is hypothesized that there are as many as 10-13 million Mauser floating around and many of these do not fall into the category of easily listed serial numbers.
