I have a savage fox 12ga with 30in barrels. it is a model BSE-c and is a single trigger, and no markings as to what choke the barrels are.
    I have two main quetions:
    1. where is the serial number ? i have had the gun apart and cant find anything... on other savage fox guns that i have had it was easy to find.
    2. what is the estemated value of a gun like this in 90% condition?

any other information that you can give well be appreciated.

Your gun was made before 1968. No number needed.

It probably shoots the right barrel first and you can't change that.Nice gun, always wanted one when I hunted with a 311 because of the shell ejectors but I like the 311 because I can select which barrel I want to shoot first by pulling that barrel's trigger.

Single trigger double barrel guns come in two types; non-selective and selective. The selective type let you select which barrel you fire first. The non-selective type fire the right barrel first every time you shoot. If you fire the right barrel first and not the left barrel, then reload the right bbl., the right barrel will fire first again. You can't select the bbl. you want to fire first.

The single selective trigger lets you select which barrel you fire first. The idea is that for an approaching target you can shoot the tighter choked barrel first, then the more open bbl. at the closer target.
For fleeing game you can shoot the more open bbl. first, then the tighter barrel at the more distant target

    Cheers,

Take the barrels off and look at the underneath of them. Serial number will be there. Also same serial number should be on the inside bottom of the frame.
