Gun Storage in original box

Are the ORIGINAL foam lined boxes that the guns come in OK for long time storage? I've seen pictures of guns that were kept in foam rubber boxes that eventually ruined the guns.

  The factory boxes are for shipping purposes only and were never designed for long term storage. Most guns shipped in styrofoam boxes are treated with a preservative at the factory and then sealed in plastic. These factory fresh guns will last, but once you open the bag it is just like opening a bag of corn chips; it is just a matter of time...

  Thanks Mark. I've got most of my guns that are not in their original boxes in BoreStors and stored in gun safes. I've been storing factory-packed guns in their original boxes and left them that way. Guess I need to buy more BoreStors.
