I'm selling off a few old guns for my brother, who is in a nursing home. One interesting gun is a Model 1912, 12ga, 29" barrel full choke, made in 1914. One fella told me 1914 was the first year for 12ga in that gun. It's been carried a lot, no bluing in sight, buttpad is down to a little red fragment, but the gun seems tight and ready to head out for more birds. I can't find anything comparable on the auction side. If I were a shotgunner, I'd probably get it reblued, put a new buttpad on it, and enjoy a gun that my grandfather bought when he was young. No young males in our family to pass it on to. Is this just an old $300 shotgun, or might there be some additional value for being a "first year 12ga"?

"Is this just an old $300 shotgun".......in that condition that is all it is. ser.# will determine when it was built (published data is several years off). the shotgun originaly had a hard rubber butt plate, not a red recoil pad.
