something like a Kel-tec P32, P3AT, or Ruger LCP are about as small and concealable as you can get.

All choices given are good thus far. I carry a Kahr PM9 and S&W 642 depending on what I am wearing.

Bottom line is find out what you shoot well. Find a friend with numerous handguns or go to a range that rent's guns & try several. Yes, the range rental will cost you a lot more money, but I have found out that many of my friends go through 2-5 different CCW firearms before they find what fit's them the best. Then they lose money on selling the guns that "just didn't seem to fit".

Figure out what works for you & then buy.

I will also add that, in my comfort zone, a revolver with a completely enclosed hammer from a quality maker should be the most reliable weapon for concealed carry. Too many problems can arise from a semi-auto handgun in a stressful situation. I am, however, much more accurate with my other handguns (because of Single action trigger or the smooth DAO trigger on the Kahr & Springfields).

I think a 2 1/2" SP101 in 38 Special is a good one. It ias a good choice for a woman because it will not jam. Most encounters will be over in a couple of shots and be farily close. If you want some more power form the gun you can shoot .357 mag. in it also. The gun will hide good in a small side holster or an in the paints holster. I twill also put in any glove box or in a purse. [^]

Small carry concealable firearm besides a .22?

I carry a Kahr CW40, light, flat, better stopping power than a 9MM.
