YUKON
I just purched a browning 30-06 made in belguim
Stainless barrel , monte carlo stock.the only numbers i can find are
56990 L70 whats it worth and when was it made Please help

    My Grandfather Recently passed away and I was given his Browning 30-06. I am curious of the value as it has never been fired. It is still in the original box, and I have the receipt that he got with it when he payed for it in 1968. I have looked through all the booklets that came with it and it only says Browning Atuomatic High-power rifle. I really do not have any intention of selling it mainly for sentimental value, but I do like knowing the value of things I have. If anyone can help me out I would appreciate it.

    engraving on shell release has same shell release as my springfield spring loaded trap door
    condition good bolt action
    will try to load pics new to this

    You need to open a photobucket account (free) and copy the IMG link and follow the directions in the sticky at the top of the ATE forum.

    Its a Browning Hi-Power rifle, probably the Safari model but the pictures are too grainy to tell (need to resize them). Made in 1970. I don't think they were made with stainless barrels though. Is it possible yours is "in the white" meaning that the blue has been removed? Hard to tell with the pictures you have now. These are great rifles but some had a salt wood problem which could cause pitting of the locations where steel touched wood. I've seen some that were really bad, and some not so bad. Easy to tell if there is a salt problem by taking the screws out of the butt plate. Those will be rusted if there was a salt problem.
