Just picked up a W.F.Vickery rifel in 270 Win. Did a search and found a book he wrote about gun smithing, bid on it but haven't got it yet.
Can anyone tell me anything about this gentlman? He built realy fine rifles, or atleast mine is. Built on a 98 Mauser action, semi bull barrel. Address on rifle is Boise Idaho.

  The Vickery marked rifles I have seen have been re-barreled by him or if stocked more utilitarian than art. Might be able to tell more once you can post pictures.

  This rifle is built on a 98 Mauser action, rebarreled to 270. When I said fine rifle, I was refering to the metal work, and bedding, probably a poor choice of words. The workmanship on the gun is very good. I'm just curious about the builder, copies of his books sell for $60.00 and up.
