Sprague .22-270
Has any one ever heard of a Sprague .22-270? If so was wondering the price on the gun. Do not want to sell just for my own knowledge.

Got to have more info. Just stating the caliber means virtually nothhing except that it's a wildcat with no known ammo source except handloading. If you don't post pictures, everyone will ask for them. 0 -

You may be trying to post pics directly to this site. No can do. You have to post on a host site then copy and paste here.
If you read the threads on this forum there is one for posting pics. Give it a read, go to www.tinypic.com and show us what you got.
A suggestion is instead of just using the default size for the pics, select I think 640x480. That'll give a perfect 'forum size' pic for us.

Sorry about the fuzzy pics my camera sucks. Thank for being patient with me and I appreciate the help. I can not find any numbers on it what so ever. From what I have been told it was made for my great great grandfather and past down to me.The gun is very heavy. Unforchinatly the people who would be able to help me have passed away. 0 -
On top of the barrel it says Sprague cal.22-270 and that is the only thing that i can find on it. 0 -
The appearance of the safety most likely means that your great Grandfathers rifle was built on a sporterized U.S. Model 1917 action.
Although it's a handsome rifle, with out the correct cartridges it's chambered for, it's just a wall hanger/conversation piece. You will have to get a gunsmith to make a chamber cast to determine what cartridge it's chambered for. After that custom reloading dies have to be acquired if you have any intention of firing it.0 -
I do have a bout 16 ready to fire cartridges. Would that make it easier to have more made and about how much would that cost? 0
