WW2 era scabbard id
hello, picked up a old leather scabbard marked usmc boyt 44 on back. it is 3 1/2 inches wide and about 11 1/2 inches long. has brass alice clip on back and a heavy duty brass top that is riveted in. made for some type of wide blade knife? just wondering what it might go to. its in good shape. anyone know? can send pics if e-mailed. buckkiller58@msn.com , thanks

It sounds like it may be a USMC Hospital Corpsman's "Bolo" knife scabbard. Does it look like the picture?

I would look for an auction with a knife missing the scabbard and offer it for sale to the seller.0 -
There are far more Hospital Corps Bolos sold on auction then there are Bolos with scabbards. Your scabbard will sell on auction by itself with no problem.
Do not try to oil or clean the leather, leave that to the collector who buys it.
