I HAVE ONE OF THESE THAT WAS GIVEN TO ME BY MY FATHER. IM TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT ITS WORTH. I WILL POST PICS SOON BUT HERE IS SOME INFO IN THE MEANTIME. IT APPEARS TO BE NICKEL PLATED OR CHROMED. IT HAS IVORY HANDLES. THERE ARE THREE SETS OF DATES ON IT.THE LAST BEING 1975 I BELIEVE. ANY INFO WOULD BE APPRECIATED. THANKS

We definitely need pictures as the Colt Single Action Army is a favorite among collectors. If it was factory plated, it would be nickel. The patent date on the frame is actually Jan 19 '75, which is 1875, not 1975. Again, that's only the patent date and has no correlation to the date of manufacture since that still appears on modern-made SAA's.

If the nickel and ivory looks good, it would be worth the hundred bucks for a factory letter. Value will be high if that is the original configuration; much lower if aftermarket addons.0 -

Well need to see all external markings; frame (patent dates and Rampant Colt), barrel (address on top and caliber stamp on the left side), the three serial number locations, full length view of each side and top, knurling on the top of the hammer spur, and hammer firing pin. This will help us judge the authenticity of the finish and features.0 -
