SEQUENCE PROFILE
I would be interested to see a profile chart that shows the pressure, and velocity, plotted against time, from the instant the hammer strikes the primer until the bullet clears the muzzle. It would be interesting to see a revolver, an auto, and a closed breach, like a bolt action. I know this would span only a small fraction of a second. I would guess it would be less than 20 milliseconds. Anyone know if this info is available?

Bamavol,
What you ask would qualify for a good doctoral thesis in "balistic engeenering".
google 'interior ballistics pressure curve'
one hit is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internal_ballistics
About 3/4 the way down the page are some burn rate graphs, is that you are looking for?
There are other sights with formulae etc. for plotting the particular caliber/bullet you are interested in, but it gets too math heavy for me to care.
Pure science & math only get you close. Many variables can not be calculated, such as friction differences from one barrel to the next.
I like to shoot, so if a simple calculation would replace working up a load the old fashioned way - - look at all the fun I'd miss!
