leatherwood ART scope
anybody have an idea what a Leatherwood scope would be worth.

There has been a virtually brand new USGI scope with the mount, the case and the accessories listed on the auction side with a $1895 opening bid for a very long time with no bidders. 0 -

An original ART (not Art I because there was no ART II yet) isn't worth all that much. I have one and I got it for about $200. Not much interest in people buying it either. Decent looking optics though. The tricky thing with them is the baseplate they use with their "camputer" only fits M14, M21 and M1A actions. It may fit a Garand as well but I don't know that for sure. It's not standard to a Picatinny or Rem, Sav, Sako, or Win SA or LA using Weaver type bases. You would have to modify a weaver base to make it work. With aluminum bases this can be done easily. With steel bases it can be done, but with a little more difficulty. Unless you have a mill and it cuts the groove with no issues.0 -
The one I have came mounted on a Remington 600 in 308 Win that I purchased at an auction recently. I shot the rifle for the first time last weekend, and I was quite impressed with the results.
I was just curious to see how bad I got hosed on the deal. According to a local gunsmith I did alright just on the rifle alone and had no idea what the scope would be worth.
