Model 12 Barrel Question
I'm looking at 2 model 12s. One is 16 and the other is 20 gauge. Both barrels are 28 inches marked full, but with a choke gauge it read "close to modified".
Is this a winchester thing or have they been changed?

Try another choke gauge or get an actual measurement. chances are they have not been opened. 0 -
if they were used for hunting since steel shot has been used they could have been opened up... because if you shoot steel through a full choke barrel you can bulge or split it so a lot of barrels were opened to modified which is the tightest you can safley shoot steeland nothing larger than no4 you might also check forcing cone to see if it has been lenghtened 0
