Thompson Center Contender/G2
Are contender and G2 barrels interchangeable, both ways? Thanks for your help!

Yes. There are a few barrels that have "Armalloy" finish to them and they supposedly can be used on only Contenders that have the same finish - it evidently adds a few thousands of an inch to the barrel dimensions - but other than that you're fine with mix & match. Every once in a while you'll get a barrel that requires its locking bolts to be fitted to the frame, the way you'll know this is that the gun will appear to close properly but the hammer can't be cocked. Easy fix and as a rule not often encountered. 0 -
Correct on what dfletcher says, and I've also read that the blackpowder barrels for the G2 won't fit the older Contenders. I don't have any experience with the blackpowder barrels, so I can't verify that they won't fit 0
