Marlin 1895 part replacement questions

I have been wanting to get a 45-70 for a s- called brush gun. However, I have watched for several years now and it seems Marlin makes almost what I want, but not quite. So, I finally decided to just get the closest type and modify it to my tastes.

I am wanting a stainless 18.5" non-ported barrel. I wish they made synthetic stocks, but I have never seen one for the 45-70 so I guess I'll have to settle for my 2nd choice which is the grey laminated version. I like the fiber optic sights and the Ghost Ring feature on some are nice too.

The closest I have found to what I want is: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=159971382 but I don't like the bigger loop.

I also like this one: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=160209414 but want the longer magazine.

So, my main question is would be easier to swap the magazine tube, or the lever loop?
Has anyone ever seen synthetic stocks for these?

    It is easier to swap levers. it is a do it your self job.
    There just happens to be one in auction #160287734

    I bought the large loop lever from Brownells - don't recall the brand name - but it was easy to switch out.

    Ok, I'll get the one with the loop I don't want and change it then. Thanks guys.

    P.S. Anyone ever see synthetic stocks for these? If so, where?

    If you ever plan on shooting while wearing gloves, you may want to try shooting it with the larger lever. Or, consider getting a leather loop cover/wrap.

    Have you tried googling a synthetic stock for the Marlin model you are getting...could suprise you what you may find.

    He can make your 1895 into a Alaskan Co-Pilot or Guide Gun.

    Yep, I have looked all over. For the 336 they are all over the place, I have yet to find one for the 1895 big-bores (that's even close to reasonably priced). Wild-west offers them in a straight english type stock (which I don't like) for almost the same price as the gun itself ($600) or if you are made of gold you can get the take down rifle in the semi pistol grip stock configuration I would like to have (less the take down feature).
    This has been the delimna I have faced every since I first decided I wanted to get a big bore carbine... [B)]
