    Yes, Remington made Rolling Block shotguns. They are pictured in their catalogs from the 1880's/1890's. However, MANY Rolling Blocks have been modified/pieced together over the years so we can't say for certain that yours is original. Even Remington used old/obsolete parts in some of their RB shotguns.

    I do know that on RB sporting rifles the barrel will have a matching serial number on the bottom (under the forearm). But I've never taken apart a RB shotgun so I don't know if it should have a # or not. On the couple of RB shotguns I've held, they both had a groove in the top of the receiver to allow seeing the front sight bead, however I don't know if this is true of all RB shotguns.

    Roy Marcot has written a new book on Rolling Blocks which includes shotguns, but I don't have it. You can check the chapter on Remington in Flayderman's Guide for assistance on values.
