    High Standard made them for Sears. Same Same as their Sentinel Model, except for the Sears "J.C. Higgins, etc." Store Brand markings. I believe that High Standard made these contract revolvers, during the 60's.

    The hole in the butt is for the grip retention screw which is the only screw in the gun. Many grips were cracked by tightening this screw too tight.

    The cylinder fluting style is unique to the Sears models.

    The Sears J. C. Higgins version of the Sentinel was first shipped in February 1955 and continued until mid August 1963. A serial number can pin point the ship date for the gun.
