colt combat commander
I have a Colt Combat Commander, in 9mm caliber, and I am trying to figure out what series it is. The Bluebook only has a listing for an 80 series gun. But, from what I have seen on a few of the gunsites this gun was also made in a series 70. The serial no. is: 70BS65XXX.
Any info would be greatly appreciated. Or, if someone knows of a website that would give me the info I am seeking. Thanks in advance.

I would appreciate your help in pricing a Colt Combat Commander .45 in Satin Nickel finish that I would like to sell. (SN: 70SC822XX)
I am the origninal owner and only fired about one box of ammo through it. I did have a gunsmith smooth the feed ramp, and put on white outline sights. It has black Pachmayer rubber grips, but I still have the original checkered wood ones. I would say that the condition is over 90%. Some minor scuff marks and light holster wear.
Thanks,

If by "new" you mean just like it left the factory, it would depend on the caliber. 38 Super, OK. 9mm or 45, IMHO, a little high. Cash is king. Walk in and lay down 8 Franklins, 1 Grant and 1 Jackson and ask if they are going to let you walk out with the money or the Commander. 0 -
Prices vary depending upon where you live. Compare prices at gun shops, gun shows, & Gunbroker auction with delivery to a local FFL. If that's the best price you can find, you don't have a lot of options.
Due to state law, I can't get one at any price. Be greatful for what you can buy.

I mean new just made and .45 how much premuim does a .38 bring I saw one on auction but no .45s. I see more.38s around here the the .45s 0 -
I paid $700 cash for a commander about two weeks ago. It was LNIB with only 2 rounds ever fired. $1000 seems high to me, but it may be fair where you are. 0 -

is $1000 a fair price for a new colt combat commander I thought this was high but the gun shops I have checked with have been at least that high. The suggested retail is only like $975.
Bud's shows NIB Commanders from $803 delivered.
There are several on GB auction:

Would there be much of a price difference between the Commander and the Combat Commander which he is asking about?
Thanks---Peabo0 -
Around here $800 seems more the range but that would be gun show, paper ad, etc. It does require patience in searching and waiting with money in hand. But it's only money and sometimes when I find what I want and it's higher, then I just got to have it.[^][:p][:D] 0 -
