Savage 99 Value
I'm looking at a Savage model 99 Brush gun in 358 cal.. This gun is in at least 99% shape. All case coloring on lever parts and bolt has absolutely no scratches on it. If it had the original box the person could probably say N.I.B. and it would be hard to say otherwise. I'm thinking about buying it but want to know approximately what it's worth. Thanks for any reply's!

Need help trying to determine fair value of a Savage 99 CD-A, s/n D682xxx, .243 clip style, bluing-wood 90%, crown-bore excellent, straight fore end, top safety, williams site. Owner asking $700. Any help would be appreciated. 0 -
There is a lot of regional variation in the sales of 99's around the country. In the southwest you could see that rifle asking between $500 and $800, but selling nearer the lower end of that range. At $700 I might be shy, at $600 I might buy, and at $650 it would probably depend upon the day. 0 -
The CD-A in 243 was introduced in 1976 and discontinued in 1980, so it was a short run. But I'd definitely agree with He Dog - $700 is a bit steep, $600 I'd likely take it if I really wanted one and didn't think the seller would go lower. Personally, with the market what it is now (sorry seller, but that's life) I'd shoot for $500-550 in my area!
