Savage model 24 parts

I have a savage model 24 in .22LR/410Ga. I need the selector assembly for it. The parts are available, but I need to order for either the new style, or old style. How can I tell if this is a new style or old style gun.

  The early models had a button on the side of the receiver and the newer models have a selector on the hammer. I don't know if this answers your question or not.
