What primer for 357?
My Lee 2nd Edition says load 357 (SP101) with small pistol primer. I'm sure they are right but I thought I need a small pistol magnum primer (newbie).
I'm using Win 231 powder at 4.9 grains behind a Rainer Ledsafe plated 125 grain bullet.
Thought I'd double check with you guys. Thanks!

Only if you are using hard to light powders such as H-110. (or other slower type powders) 0 -
Your edit helped. Yes, standard primer with W231 (I assume that's a safe, published load but haven't looked it up.) 0 -
Loaded .357 and .44 mag since 1974 using only standard primers. Never had any fail to fire. Use the mag primers if you have them, but if not just use the standard ones. 0 -
You are using a middle load, so either primer is OK. It seems magnum primers are more plentiful than standard ones.
If you get close to a max load with mag. primers, back the charge off.0 -
