They went from 1750-1800 to 999-1100 over night, why did that happen?

Because Sig is offering a $300 rebate.

(Begging the question of why). . .

Its probably because the massive gun panic of last year means that sales of military type semiautomatic rifles aren't very high right now. Couple that with a bad economy, and you might imagine why super-expensive (some might say overpriced) high-end rifles like the SIG aren't moving well.

    Hence the sale.

Because some of them are coming with less "options" like sights......

The ones with carry handle scopes are going for the same price as picatinny models.. rifles and carbines in all three colors and with either sighting option went from 1800 to 999 seemingly over night..

Don that makes sense. But it still leaves me wondering do you know that based on some intel you have or is that just your logical conclusion..

Stag started selling quality gas piston ARs for $ 1,100.00 late last year. $ 1,800.00 for an STG became much less attractive.

EDIT: Just my guess and personal experience, quick. (I was considering buying one, but when I saw the piston Stags for 2/3 the cost, I immediately lost interest.)
