Ammo from Cabela's

Can anyone provide me with an opinion (ha ha...how's THAT for an opening!) on some of the cheaper ammo available through Cabela's?

The pricing on the Herter's and HSM brands would make target practice with my beretta 8040 very inexpensive...but not at the cost of jams or worse.

Anyone with experience shooting these brands?

  I bought quite a bit of the Ultramax - found it to be very accurate and clean burning. The HSM stuff was OK, but dirty.

  I have seen a case failure with HSM 308 ! It was loaded with Lake City brass .

  I have had good results with Hunting Shack Ammo. Had one 5.56 x 45 case separate from one of their re-loaded offerings, but that was one out of thousands that went bang properly.
  
  Haven't tried Herters, and if they aren't USA Made, I won't.

  Got it...thanks for the info...and that's pretty much what i figured. A few more cents per round and buying American. Sure can't go wrong there!
