model 12 heavy duck
how rare are the heavy duck guns with 32 inch barrels as opposed to 30 inch barrels ? were more made with 30 inch ? mine is a 1942. most blue is gone,the stocks are in great shape has a mirror bore & it functions as it should.almost passed it up as i was looking for a 2 3/4 inch gun,but for 350.00 something said BUY ME.

My reference book tells me 32" barrels were an available option on the Heavy Duck and on standard 12 Ga barrels until 1951. Winchester dropped the 32" that year and offered only 30" going forward except for a few early 1952 guns that used up existing inventory. The heavy duck was full choke 3" mag with a recoil pad. The std barrel for 2 3/4" guns could be ordered 32" with other chokes. I dont know the production differences between the 30" and the 32" on the heavy duck, but I do know the 30" barrel was the majority. The 32" is not so rare as to increase value significantly as I see them for sale occasionally. What a great goose gun. 0 -
