date my 1894?
Hi all,
Another question, I have a winchester model 1894 in 32 WS serial number 482556 that I'm trying to determine the date of, an if it is shippable under the antique arms clause.
Any help appreciated!

It isn't an antique and using a swag off of Madis' 1909 date I'd say closer to 1911-1912.
Looks like you might have a special order Short Rifle, perhaps a 20 inch barrel.0 -
Hi old colts, yes I measured the barrell and it is 20".
is that of any significance? (excuse my ignorance, I'm new to the antique gun collecting!)

It was manufactured in January of 1911 (Polishing Room Serialization records), and it undoubtedly was not assembled into a completed ready-for-sale gun until February/March (or later) of 1911. As such, it is not an "Antique" per ferderal regulations, and it must be shipped to a FFL (Type-01 or Type-03). 0 -
