ar15 bolt/feeding failures
I just aquired my first ar15 and am having problems with failure to feed factory ammo of max col. if i reload and keep col under 2.159 then smack the mag !on the front! driving the cartridges forward it functions fine. any ideas?[?]

cowboy i think you are on to something as i had to return the arm to ger the correct hammer. i will check and see if the buffer and spring might be to long. thanks much!
p.s. thanks all for the advice. I checked the length of the buffer and spring, the spring was o.k. but the buffer was .289 inch long! trimmed the delrin? end and now it clears the rims and picks up the factory loads! thanks again.0 -
Just as I thought, even though it was a WAG. There may also be a weight difference between the buffers. It would probably be best to get the correct buffer to head off any future problems. 0 -
