AK Compensator/Break/Flash Suppressor
I recently purchased a new (refurbished) AK Yugo with underfolding stock, has US new barrel, and slant compensator.
Here is their description:
"New Manufacture M70AB2 7.62x39 Rifles with underfolding stock. Manufactured with original refinished Yugoslavian M70 parts, New U.S. 1mm receiver, and New US barrel."

It arrived to my local gun shop in perfect condition as shown. I'm very happy with this company's products.
I just spent an hour or so searching and reading posts here without coming to any real decisions about my next move. So I have some questions for you. I also realized that each three pages of posts from each search start from today's date and date back to the early 2000's and laws have changed.
My questions:
1. I live in Florida. Is there any part that I should not mess with that would cause this rifle to be illegal. Forget anything about it being full auto, I don't care about that. It's just a plinker. I do like accuracy.
2. I would like to replace the slant muzzle break on the front with something better, but at the same time don't want to dump a bunch of money in it either. It is threaded for 14mm.
I've looked at parts houses, comments here and some stuff on you tube. There are a lot of choices and they come in a variety of names and descriptions.
I want something that will reduce muzzle jump, noise and flash as much as possible. Again, I don't want to spend a lot of money or add anything "forbidden".
Any thoughts? Again, I value accuracy and reduced recoil the most.

Click on your link and go to accessories, then AK accessories, then muzzle devices and take your pick. The one you need is the AK-74 style brake. 0 -
I prefer the AK-74 brake on my Yugos over the standard slant brake:

The AK-74 type break is not pricey and is easy to install.0 -
I noticed that the slant break that is installed now is relatively "loose" on the treads. It's position is where the pin lines up and not by tightening all the way up.
When you screw on one of these longer breaks, what keeps them aligned if they do not tighten all the way back. Are there shims or something to make up the gap?
It would be bad if the hole at the end wasn't lined up well with the bore.
At least I'll get to try some different ones. They look easy to swap out.
I agree that the slant style looks the best and is the shortest. You guys have some nice looking collections.0 -
As long as the brake you add is made in the US you are good to go. I like the slant brakes as the keep the original look of the rifle. I do have 2 74 style brakes.
They are all loose. I've heard of some people putting a little thread tape on the threads to tighten em up. I got over.0
