Help! I need identification for inherited rifle

    You might look into posting pics of this rifle if you can. There is a 'sticky' in the first few threads on this forum with a description of how to do it.

    Sounds like a common half stock percussion rifle, but when marked, the maker's name is usually on top flat of the barrel. Many gunmakers used ready-made locks from the Goulcher's or other lock makers. The double trigger is probably a "set" trigger which sets the front trigger by pulling the rear one: The front trigger then becomes a "hair" trigger requiring only a touch to fire. (You can try it without cocking the hammer)
