shotgun brand id and info
I was just given an old looking 12g. double barrel shotgun with no name on it. On the butt plate there is an embossed circular logo with a very fancy B, T and C on it, staked on top of each other, yet intertwined and then "& Co." within it as well. Can anyone tell me the manufacturer of this gun and anything else about it?

There is only a number: 26206 Any ideas? I also found some fain thin makings on the side in front of the hammer. It's very hard to make out. It looks like two "words" N_W BH(?)K5P
Does this make sense to anyone?0 -
I think the fancy script letters are actually B G & F, for the Baker Gun & Forging Co of Batavia, New York, ca 1889-1903:

You are right! It doesn't look like an F, or a G tho' But the medalian matches. AND At an angle I can see that the words in front of the hammer are "New Baker" but written/etched in a fancy script, not stamped, which I believe is a model of theirs. We have "matching" number 26206 under the reciever. Thank you so much.
Is it worth anything, or just a fireplace piece?0 -
I believe it's a wall hanger. Here's one that was listed on the auction side: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=148003992 0 -
