GOOGLE, "Biggerhammer", it's a site with a lot of information about various AR models and serial numbers.

Model R6520 was originally made 1988-1990. But, Colt starts & stops production based upon orders, plus they make changes without changing the model number.

I guess my answer should have been, "I don't know."
